The Arts Society Worcester

We are a member society of The Arts Society. Our lecturers are of national and international standing and lecture on all aspects of decorative and fine arts. They have to satisfy an Arts Society vetting group before they can lecture to member societies, so the standard is consistently good.

During the course of the year, we also hold Days of Special Interest, Visits within the UK, and Cultural Tours. The tours take place in the UK and overseas. There are many other activities in which members may become involved. For details of those, see our About Us page.

The Society belongs to a larger group, the West Mercia Area, which promotes activities across a wider area and enables the exchanging of ideas, opinions and recommendations.

A special project
"Fifty Treasures of

West Mercia"

We are producing a book entitled "Fifty Treasures of West Mercia", to showcase less well known treasures in our area. These could be buildings, sculptures, church contents or windows, garden features, paintings, installations, furniture, statues and memorials.

West Mercia extends over Wiltshire, Bristol, West Wales, Gloucestershire and the Severn Valley. Our own members aren’t just from Worcester itself but Droitwich, Hartlebury, Malvern, Pershore, Kidderminster, Upton-Upon-Severn, Tewkesbury and Stourport-on-Severn, so you are not restricted to just the city of Worcester for your choices.

What we need is a photograph of the object and 75 to 150 words of  description.

Entries are to be sent to Mary Carns by the end of April,
